face wartsFacial warts can cause embarrassment and a lot of discomfort. They grow on the face which is what people first notice of you when you talk to them. Having warts on your face can definitely make your daily life very embarrassing and difficult. This is because people may fear they can be infected by you or they can just be disgust by the warts you have on your face. I have personally experienced facial warts and I can tell you that many of the people I knew used to avoid me because they were scared I could have infected them.

From experience I can tell you that when warts grow on your face, you want to find a way to remove them as quick as possible. Facial warts can be considered flat warts and have small dimension. Usually they form in groups and expand on the face very fast if not treated properly. A lot of times it will happen because of self-contamination. Because of this I suggest being very careful when you touch your face or you can accidentally infect it even more. Wash your hands with soap immediately if you touch any of your warts.

What causes facial warts

What causes the growth of warts is the human papillomavirus (HPV) a very contagious virus that can spread easily from one person to another. The easiest way to transmit the virus is though direct contact when two people touch each other. You should know that the HPV can also be transmitted through object. For example, it can be transmitted just using a towel or skin products that have been previously infected by someone else. This is why you should always be very careful when sharing this type of personal objects.

How to get rid of warts on face

So far, common medication has not found a non-invasive procedure to eradicate the human papillomavirus from the human body. If you want to rely on accredited medical treatments to remove facial warts, you may need to go through some sessions of cryotherapy or laser therapy. You should know that these procedures are not just very costly but in some cases even very painful and leave visible scars on your face.

It is very common for people that have warts on face to remove them with the use of invasive procedures and then to have a plastic surgeries to remove the scars that have been left. All of this can cost you a fortune and at the end is not going to solve your problem. This is because the HPV can’t be eliminated from the outside. If you want to really eliminate your facial warts I suggest you choose a natural remedy that will act on both the warts and the virus removing them safely and without leaving any scars on your skin.

What are warts?

Featured

The first step to learn how to kill warts is to answer to the questions: what are warts and what causes them? Warts are viral growths caused by the human papillomavirus. They can be formed anywhere on the skin and usually do not represent a serious medical condition. You should know that they are only benign tumors and non-cancerous ones. The way that warts survive on your body is through tiny blood vessels that grows deep inside your skin.

Warts are not just unpleasant to look at and often very painful, but usually it can take some time before you will find a way to remove them. This is because there are different type of them. If you want to find an effective cure and get rid of your warts, it will be very important to understand which type you have been infected with.

Main types of warts and their transmission

There are 5 main types of warts. Each one has different characteristics and can develop almost on every part of the body. This is a list of all of them and their principal characteristics:

Flat Warts – This type of warts normally grows on arms, face or legs. A flat wart is generally flatter and smoother than other types and has two characteristic colors: pink or light brown. They are very common in children.

Plantar Warts – Plantar warts grow on the sole of the foot. Usually, they have a light tone or a slightly yellow color and they are form as hard growths on the skin. Plantar warts cause pain when walking (because of the pressure of the body on them) and they feel like  having a little stone inside your shoe.

Filiform Warts – These warts commonly form around the mouth, nose, eyes or beard. Filiform warts are generally flesh-colored, narrow and protrude above the surface of the skin. One of their characteristics is that they spread very fast.

Periungual Warts – This particular type usually develop around or under fingernails or toenails (in the latter case they are also called subungual warts). They appear like any common warts but they are usually very painful and more difficult to cure, because of the place where they grow.

Genital Warts – They form in the genital area and manifest as small growths. Genital warts vary in thickness, from soft to hard, and color, from light pink to brown or yellow. They are not painful but they create a lot of discomfort and they are very contagious.

All types of warts described above are caused by the same virus: the human papillomavirus (HPV). You should know that, there are more than 100 strains of this virus and they can be transmitted through direct or indirect contact. This means that you can either get infected touching someone who has warts or touching an object or a surface that has been previously infected.

Also, it is very important to be very careful when touching your warts. This is because, it is very easy to spread the virus to other parts of your body if you are being cautious. So, I strongly suggest not to pick or scratch your warts and wash your hands immediately if you ever touch them. This will make sure you won’t spread the virus all over your body.

Filiform Warts

Filiform warts are a type of warts which presents very specific characteristics. You can easily notice them because they protrudes above the surface of the skin. They are usually not dangerous but they can cause a lot of embarrassment and be very hard to remove.

filiform wartsFiliform warts grow mainly on the face and neck. This is why most of the time you can referred to them as facial warts. The areas of the face which are easier to get infected are eyelids, lips and neck which are all parts that are very visible and hard to cover. Filiform warts are long and narrow. They are usually flesh-colored, but sometimes they can be white or yellow. One of their main characteristic is that they spread very fast and it is not rare to have many of them in just a small area.

What causes filiform warts?

As all type of warts, filiform warts are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). To be more specific, this infection is caused by HPV type 1, 2, 4, 27 and 29. The virus penetrates inside the body through cuts or scratches and uses blood vessel to get nourishment. The HPV develop very quickly inside the body and makes skin cells grow very fast. The heat and the humidity of the skin helps its reproduction. It is the quick growth of the virus that makes the warts protrude above the surface of the skin once they start forming.

Main symptoms of filiform warts

Filiform warts are very hard not to notice compare to other types like common warts. They are different from other warts because they are very aggressive and they form and spread very quickly on the skin. Symptoms that can make you aware of the infection are itch and a tingling sensation in the area where the wart is about to grow. Then the wart is going to protrude out of the skin causing sometimes bleeding especially if it grows around the eyes. Filiform warts can develop individually, but most of the times they will form in groups.

One of the easiest ways to get infected with the human papillomavirus is to use someone else’s towel or napkin. You should know that not every time you will be in contact with an infected object or an infected person you will get the virus. For example, if you have a strong immune system your body can fight the infection before it happens. Anyway, I strongly recommended you avoid physical contact with people who show clear sign of infection and have contracted the virus. In the case you get infected, you should be very careful not to touch the wart and if you do, to immediately wash your hands. This will prevent to spread the virus on other parts of your body.

Filiform wart removal treatment

Usually, doctors suggest the use of immunotherapy treatments to cure facial warts because surgical procedure can be dangerous and cause scarring. The cream or lotion used for the cure can be easily applied on the wart, or sometimes the medication can be directly injected inside it. The immunotherapy is going to strengthen your immune system and allow your body to remove the warts from the inside. If this treatment doesn’t produce any result other possibilities are to use salicylic acid, laser surgery or cryotherapy. These procedure are very aggressive and normally are only used when other methods have failed.

You should know that removal procedures, particularly the more invasive ones, can be very painful and can leave marks on your skin. Also, none of the treatments above is going to eliminate the HPV from your body. This means that once you have remove the warts, they can always come back in the future. The result is you will have to start the removal process over and over again.
